Movement and Embodiment workshop with Seyi Adelekun

Join artist Seyi Adelekun in the Conservatory to heal ecological grief.

The session begins with an intentional walk around the 23,000 square feet space, followed by a movement and embodiment workshop. Adelekun’s practice create work that awakens our ecological awareness, environmental stewardship and spiritual relationship with ourselves and the More-Than-Human world.

Seyi Adelekun

Seyi Adelekun is a London-based multidisciplinary artist with Nigerian heritage. Their practice focuses on creating installations and performance art rooted in nature's spiritual wisdom, with the aim to foster introspection and ecological awareness. Seyi’s workshops provide space for deep healing and connection, especially for BIPOC communities, centering embodied knowledge through movement, rituals, and craft to embrace ancestral connections with the environment.

Seyi’s work has shown at South London Gallery, London Festival of Architecture, Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail and London Design Festival. They are a G.A.S Foundation Fellow, a member of the Bloom Collective and have contributed to projects for Assemble Studio, Artangel and A New Direction.

 

Conservatory and Garden Room

Location
The Barbican Conservatory is located on Level 3, if you’re coming from inside the main Barbican building.

From the Barbican highwalks, follow signs to the ‘Barbican Centre’. Walking from Barbican tube station, you’ll see a steps with ‘Art Gallery’ above them, these will lead you up to the Sculpture Court where you'll see a sign for the Conservatory.
