Maxim Vengerov and the Oxford Philharmonic

Celebrating the Orchestra’s Silver Jubilee

Maxim Vengerov playing his violin

The Oxford Philharmonic celebrate their 25th anniversary in style with Romantic era favourites.

Sweeping, soaring melodies from Mendelssohn and Brahms always make for an uplifting pairing. Hear for yourself in what promises to be a fanfare performance fitting of the Oxford Philharmonic’s Silver Jubilee.

After making their debut at the Barbican back in November 1998, the Oxford Philharmonic have become known for bringing new and engaging interpretations to well-known works where no two performances are the same. Founder Marios Papadopoulos conducts this evening’s performance with Grammy Award-winning violinist Maxim Vengerov, a longstanding guest friend of the Oxford Philharmonic and its most regular guest artist.
