Earth Mama (15) (AD)

A young pregnant woman lies on the bonnet of a car in the dark, looking calmy forward. She wears blue jeans and a large striped teeshirt.

A young woman in California tries to carve a balanced life for her children in this stunning portrait of Black motherhood by Savanah Leaf.

From Sundance Film Festival, Earth Mama is the stunning journey of a pregnant young mother trying to bring her family back together and provide for her unborn child.

This visually luscious film bravely embraces themes of race and class, centring on Gia (played by Tia Nomore) and the community around her as she tries to bring her family back together.

Based on a short film by Leaf and Taylor Russell, Earth Mama is a poignant and eye-opening portrait of Black motherhood, lingering racisms in the US, and the power of community to heal together.
