Supporting Social Change through Creativity

TeachMeet

group of people standing around with hands in the air and feathers thrown in room

Calling all teachers and educators to join us in a discussion about how to support social change through classroom practice, in extra-curricular activities and in the wider school community.

Join fellow teachers, cultural practitioners, and our staff in a conversation about new approaches from the classroom and beyond.

This free hybrid event will include fun and informal presentations and, an opportunity to connect with other teachers. Join us in person in our Fountain Room at the Barbican for drinks, presentations, and a complimentary ticket offer to an exhibition, concert, or film of your choice on the night, or just tune in remotely for the presentations.

Booking Information

Once you’ve booked a ticket, you’ll be sent instructions by email on how to join the online session in the week of the event, if you can’t join us in person. The presentations will start promptly at 5pm so we recommend that you set up your Zoom account in advance. If you’re having issues accessing the event then please contact us at [email protected]

TeachMeets are free networking and practice-sharing events for teachers. Each TeachMeet is themed around a specific topic, and we invite teachers to present on a subject relating to that topic. There are two presenting formats: a seven-minute 'Micro' presentation and a three-minute 'Nano' presentation. Teachers are welcome to share something they are proud of or can talk about something that didn’t go quite as planned.

If you wish to present in addition to attending, please contact [email protected] with ‘TeachMeet Presentation’ in the subject line, with some details on what you’d like to share.
