Suzanne Vega + John Smith

An Evening of New York Songs & Stories

One of the foremost songwriters of her generation and a leading figure in folk-pop, Suzanne Vega presents her forthcoming album, An Evening of New York Songs and Stories.

A masterful storyteller, with literary lyrics that guide the listener through her poetic observations of the world around her, Vega’s understated melodic beauty is immediately recognisable and as utterly distinct and thoughtful as it was when her voice was first heard on the radio over 30 years ago.

She’s joined by her band featuring longtime guitarist, Gerry Leonard, performing songs dedicated to the city life of her hometown, New York, from her upcoming album, due for release in September. Live, Vega’s flawless voice rings out, backed by delicately plucked guitars.

Opening the show is John Smith – one of the finest British folk guitarists and songwriters working today.
