Novo Amor

Acclaimed Welsh producer, multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Novo Amor performs his Barbican debut.

Novo Amor’s music flits between the gently uplifting and the euphoric, filled with both wistful nostalgia and tempered optimism. His restrained falsetto croons over fuzzy piano chords, layered strings and crashing cymbals that wash over the listener, bringing to mind Jónsi or Bon Iver. This is the auditory equivalent of a late-summer evening spent by an evergreen-surrounded lake, with fairylights twinkling overhead.

Playing alongside a full band, Novo Amor will perform material from debut solo album Birthplace and his new record, Cannot Be, Whatsoever (AllPoints), which is slated for release this Autumn, and in comparison to the quiet hope and longing of much of his catalogue, is a marked and dynamic shift toward the light.

This concert will start at the advertised start time and running times will be confirmed closer to the event
