Lise Davidsen & Leif Ove Andsnes

In the left of the image Leif Ove Andsnes is looking to his right slighty, holding his left hand with his right. In the right of the image Lise Davidsen is smiling and looking to her left, holding the neckline of her jumper.

Indulge in a feast of Norwegian culture as two of the country’s finest musicians champion the beautiful music of their compatriot, Edvard Grieg, alongside popular lieder from Strauss and Wagner.

Lise Davidsen is the soprano of the moment. ‘Not just a voice. The voice.’ declared The New York Times. The once in a generation talent is joined by a deeply thoughtful and classy pianist in Leif Ove Andsnes, who you can be sure has considered the nuance behind every single phrase and note.

Together they will charm you with a selection of songs from Strauss and Grieg, and the latter’s only song cycle, The Mountain Maid – an homage to the Norwegian countryside and young love, based on epic poems by countryman Arne Garborg. And you’ll even be treated to a glimpse of Davidsen’s Wagnerian credentials in the Wesendonck Lieder.
