Khatia Buniatishvili

An ethereal image of Khatia in a stately garden with wind in her hair, expertly playing the piano with great emotion

Come for the fireworks, stay for the poetry: pianist Khatia Buniatishvili brings her barnstorming technique and thoughtful musicality to music from great Baroque and Romantic masters.

Some pianists just attract superlatives. With ‘jaw-dropping virtuoso technique’ (Evening Standard) and a habit of causing a sensation, the Georgian’s showstopping, outrageous brilliance has to be seen to be believed.

But there is far more to Buniatishvili’s artistry than the reputation that precedes her. Discover the 'pianist of extremes' (Gramophone), as she takes us on a whirlwind journey from the introspection of Bach to the drama of Liszt. And with Satie at his most atmospheric and Couperin at his most haunting, you can prepare to be moved by Buniatishvili's musicality.

This performance will finish at approximately 8.45pm, with no interval.
