Darbar Festival

The sensational Agra style of Indian vocals

Enter the world of khayal (imagination) through the velvety, expressive voice of Ustad Waseem Ahmed Khan and his penetrating sense of drama from the Agra gharana school of music. From a family of masters, Khan began his training at just six years old, and this is his debut UK performance. Witness the exploration of the raag as he paints surreal imagery, accompanied by sarangi master Hussain Khan, and the superb Milind Kulkarni on harmonium with Gurdain Rayatt providing rhythmic support on the tabla.
