Max Richter: Voices

Max Richter looking downwards

The world premiere of contemporary composer Max Richter’s new piece, Voices.

Richter’s new project, co-commissioned by the Barbican, is written for an orchestra with radically reimagined instrumentation.

Known for his experimental post-minimalist style, mixing electronic and classical sounds in his work, Richter has written for film, opera and ballet as well as an eight-hour piece intended to be listened to overnight titled Sleep. With this new commission, Richter continues his established relationship with the Barbican having most recently co-curated Sounds and Visions, a weekend of music and image, with artist Yulia Mahr in May 2018.

This concert will start promptly at the advertised start time and running times will be confirmed closer to the event.
