Architecture on Stage

Tipperne Bird Sanctuary

We are joined by Danish architects Søren Johansen and Sebastian Skovsted to discuss their recent works across Denmark, which delicately blend landscape, architecture and heritage.

Based in Copenhagen, Søren Johansen and Sebastian Skovsted founded their practice in 2014, and have since been awarded the the Three-Year Working Grant of the Danish Arts Foundation 2017 and the Danish Crown Prince Couple’s Stardust Award 2016.

Recent projects, such as the the Skjern River Pumping Stations and Tipperne Bird Sanctuary have seen the practice working with heritage structures and in protected natural environments blending ideas of architecture, material and landscape.

Alongside teaching at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the practice ran a studio at the Porto Academy in 2019.

The Architecture Foundation, in association with the Barbican, presents Architecture on Stage – a programme of talks by the world's leading architects.
