Chelsea Manning

A daring documentary focusing on the trans woman soldier and whistleblower, Chelsea Manning.

Manning, a former US soldier, leaked thousands of military documents to Wikileaks, leading to her arrest and imprisonment in 2010. Seven years later, she received a Presidential pardon. After transitioning and becoming one of the world’s most famous whistleblowers, this documentary observes how Manning copes with the changes in her life.

Tim Travers Hawkins creates a powerful character portrait that focusses on one woman’s journey, but also seeks to understand how Manning’s actions have divided and changed a nation.
