Woman At War (12A)

Members' Screening

Woman At War's protagonist aims her crossbow at a drone

A genre-blending eco-fable that examines what it really means to save the world.

By day, 50 year old Halla (Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir) is a seemingly content choir instructor. By night, she is Reykjavik’s peskiest eco-terrorist, waging a one-woman war against the local aluminium industry.

When foreign governments declare more nefarious intentions for her rural homeland, she prepares for her most ambitious act of resistance yet but receives an unexpected piece of news that throws into question just how much she is willing to risk.

Our unconventional heroine must confront the limits of her extremism and nonviolence, of what her activism can truly achieve, as well as her own sense of self and spiritual fulfilment.
