Guildhall Jazz Orchestra with Yazz Ahmed

Yazz Ahmed holding trumpet against a green background

Guildhall welcomes back celebrated alumna Yazz Ahmed – the British-Bahraini trumpet player and composer known as the “high priestess of psychedelic Arabic jazz”.

Yazz Ahmed seeks to blur the lines between jazz, electronic sound design, producing intoxicating and compelling music which brings together the sounds of her mixed heritage.

In recent years she has led her various ensembles in concerts around the UK and abroad, including at major festivals such as WOMAD, Molde Jazz, Pori Jazz and Love Supreme, and collaborated with the likes of Radiohead, Swing Out Sister and These New Puritans.
