Alex Bryson & Mark Kavuma: 1930s Show Tunes

L'Aubette Live

An installation shot of the recreation of L'Aubette in Into the Night: Cabarets and Clubs in Modern Art

Dynamic young pianist Alex Bryson joins Mark Kavuma on trumpet, capturing the energy of classic 1930s show tunes by the likes of Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Richard Rodgers.

Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening throughout Into the Night, the galleries will come to life with performance in the exhibition’s recreation of Strasbourg’s iconic L’Aubette (1928), focusing on the vitality and diversity of jazz as performed across the globe. The evenings are co-curated with Mark Kavuma, a prominent young trumpet player on the British jazz scene.

The performance starts at 7pm and is free with an Into the Night exhibition ticket.

Please note that the performance finishes at approximately 8pm and the gallery closes at 9pm.
