Paper Engineering with KUF Studios: Christmas Cards

Greeting Card Workshop in the Barbican Shop

Make hand-cut, pop-up Christmas cards with Kia Utzon-Frank of  KUF studios.

Using simple Japanese kirigami (structured cuts and folds) you'll create personalised greeting cards with a contemporary twist, working with paper from G . F Smith and stone paper.

The workshop is adjusted to suit different difficulty levels and skills so everybody will be met (and challenged) at their level and leave with their own handmade cards. The workshop is an introduction to a different way of approaching 'flat paper' by exploring the transformation of shape.

Kia uses this method herself to create much of her own work and will also explain how to further explore this way of working..

Participants usually leave with at least one to two finished Kirigami cards.
