Love As A Revolution

A mural by Jasmine Thompson

People marching in protest

A mural inspired by the love-story in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

In her large-scale illustrations, artist Jasmine Thompson depicts scenes of courage, solidarity and revolution and invites viewers to take part by writing their own messages of how love and unity can change society.

Jasmine is an illustrator, designer, and caricaturist. Her work often explores social issues and politics, and uses illustration to venture into new ways of telling a story.

The exhibition is part of the RSC’s winter season at the Barbican, running alongside their production of Romeo and Juliet in the Theatre.

The exhibition was commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company and first shown in Stratford-upon-Avon, Feb–Apr 2018.
