Gilberto Gil

Refavela 40

Forty years after the release of Gilberto Gil’s classic album Refavela, Gilberto Gil brings the album back to life with a band led by his son Bem Gil, alongside musical friends and partners.

Taking its title from the favelas found in Brazilian cities, Refavela is an album that captures the energy of life in the metropolis. Taking inspiration from traditional African and Afro-Brazilian sounds and rhythms, it’s a compelling, brassy and funk-infused career highlight. Tonight, Gilberto Gil, friends and family recreate its brilliantly exuberant soundworld.

A true success with the public and critics, the concert that started in September this year has already gone through many cities of Brazil and is now coming to Europe with an exclusive formation.
