My Giraffe (U*)

Framed Film Festival 2018

My Giraffe

Full of charm, this Dutch hit tells the tale of a young boy and his unlikely friendship with the giraffe next door.

Patterson is excited to start school for the first time but is disappointed to learn that his best friend Raf - a giraffe in the zoo next-door – won’t be able to come to classes with him. Determined not to grow apart, the two pals navigate this new stage in their lives with courage and mischief.

An absolute charmer of a film full of warm-hearted characters, this is a wonderfully gentle story for the youngest of film-goers (and the young at heart).

Based on a poem by Annie M.G. Schmidt, the multi-award winning, queen of Dutch children’s literature.

Netherlands 2018 Dir. Barbara Bredero 74 min
In Dutch with English subtitles

Headsets will be available to children, subtitles will be read out loud by a voice over artist.

Adults can only come if they’re bringing a child, and children can only come along if accompanied by an adultt. If you’re over 18, we’re afraid being a ‘big kid’ doesn’t count.
