Stronger (15)

Jake Gyllenhaal stars in Stronger

This profound exploration of life after trauma tells the true story of Jeff Bauman (Jake Gyllenhaal), an ordinary man caught up in the Boston Marathon bombing, who became a symbol of hope to many.

After regaining consciousness in the hospital, Jeff is able to help law enforcement identify one of the suspects, but his own battle is just beginning. With unwavering support from his family and girlfriend Erin (Tatiana Maslany) Bauman embarks on a long and heroic journey to physical and emotional rehabilitation.

Eschewing the clichés of standard inspirational movies, David Gordon Green creates a deeply affecting portrait that is grounded in Bauman's personal journey, with award-worthy performances from two leads, to create a film that lives up to the remarkable reality on which it's based.
