An evening with Pat Metheny

Pat Metheny and his beloved guitar

The jazz guitarist brings a brand new band and a brand new set of music to the Hall.

The sheer invention and energy of Pat Metheny’s music continues to shine, always searching for new sounds and ideas while retaining the melodic force and free-wheeling, joyous drive that has been his hallmark since he first emerged in the 1970s. In this new quartet, his unmistakeable playing style is matched with two talents from the new generation, with UK pianist Gwilym Simcock joining the brilliant bassist Linda Oh and long-time Metheny sidekick, drummer Antonio Sanchez, in a band that positively exudes class.

This line-up is soon to release an album on Nonesuch Records, the music from which will be performed on the night.
