Magnum - Our Turning World

Photographs 1989-99

This major exhibition marked the 50th anniversary of Magnum, the world’s most prolific and widely respected photographic group.

Featuring around 350 photographs by over 50 Magnum photographers, Our Turning World explored issues and events that preoccupied Magnum photographers throughout the nineties. It included new photographs by founding member Henri Cartier-Bresson (who came out of retirement to produce work especially for the exhibition), alongside other celebrated members such as Eve Arnold, Josef Koudelka, Marc Riboud, Leonard Freed and Martine Franck.

Each photographer produced a photo-story in their own particular style, traditional black and white photographs from some members were seen alongside innovative colour images from the likes of Martin Parr, Bruce Gilden and Lise Sarfati.
