Touching Bass presents: Halima & Illnoledge

Errol and Alex Rita’s South London-based movement, Touching Bass return for a new showcase at the Barbican, with a special one-night only concert in Milton Court Concert Hall on 17 October 2025. Presenting a spellbinding blend of afro-infused genres, the evening will spotlight new music and UK premieres from two boundary-pushing artists, Halima and Illnoledge.

Headlining the night with her genre-full melodies, Brooklyn-Based, British-Nigerian artist Halima builds new worlds where club culture meets soulful ballads in a blend of honeyed Afro-pop and scorched R&B. In the afterglow of her 2024 EP EXU out via drink sum wtr, praised by Clash, The Fader, Radio 1 and more, Halima prepares for the release of her widely anticipated debut album SWEET TOOTH (September, 2025) which will see its UK premiere in Milton Court Concert Hall.

Support for the evening comes from sibling duo Illnoledge, Steve Hartley and Mill Voyance, who will present their spiritually charged and self-described sound ‘Akan Fu’ – a style that merges afrobeat, soul, Latin, jazz and reggae. Following performances at world-class venues and festivals including Paradiso, Le Guess Who, and Super Sonic Jazz, the composer and producer duo will preview material from their forthcoming album Everlasting (October 2025), out this year.

Following previous exciting performances with the likes of anaiis, Astrønne and Lynda Dawn, Barbican’s partnership with Touching Bass will continue in the 2025/26 season, across the Centre and its associated spaces – including Milton Court Concert Hall. Newly announced performances with Halima and Illnoledge further signify Touching Bass’ mission to craft heartfelt, community-rooted musical experiences, connecting local and international talent in world-renowned, one-of-a-kind spaces.
