Modern Couples with Red Chidgey

Collaboration and Social Change

A. Rodchenko and V. Stepanova descending from an airplane.

This interactive gallery talk will explore ideas drawn from feminist history and activism to throw new light on the inner workings of creative collaboration.

Putting artworks and intimate letters from Hannah Höch, Virginia Woolf, Frida Kahlo and other artists under the spotlight, this interactive gallery tour will highlight the thorny question of working rituals and artistic recognition; feminist disruptions of traditional ideas of womanhood; and queer invitations to re-think the creative couple beyond the human.

Dr Red Chidgey is co-founder of the Protest Memory network and author of the new book Feminist Afterlives.
