Dust Bowl Ballads: Kieran Towers & Charlotte Carrivick

Music in the Art Gallery

Photo taken by Dorothea Lange of an unemployed lumber worker

Join Kieran Towers & Charlotte Carrivick for an evening of music in the Art Gallery

To accompany the exhibition Dorothea Lange: Politics of Seeing, British folk singer and music specialist Sam Lee curates a series of live music events in the gallery space in response to Dorothea Lange’s photographs of the Great Depression.

Expanding on the tradition of fiddle/banjo duets, award winning multi instrumentalists Kieran and Charlotte combine their thorough knowledge of Appalachian folk music to create a new take on old time and contemporary string band styles.

“What draws the listener in is the quality of playing, which is never less than first-rate and frequently outstanding." R2 Magazine

Free with your exhibition ticket on Thursday 19 July.

Performance times: 7-8.30pm
