HPSCHD: Music for Electronics and Harpsichord

Mahan Esfahani

Mahan Esfahani head on desk

Put aside any casual assumptions about what a harpsichord can do – or can be – in the 21st century: Mahan Esfahani plans to light up Milton Court with an ear-opening contemporary recital.

He is an artist who doesn’t acknowledge boundaries; and whose fiercely intelligent virtuosity illuminates everything he touches. The Guardian hailed the ‘piercing insight’ of his Bach: imagine how he’ll sound in new works by Anahita Abbasi and the Faroese composer Sunleif Rasmussen. In the intimate space of Milton Court, it should sound remarkable.
