Balimaya Project meets the Discos Pacífico All Stars in a musical exchange blending West African and African-descendant cultures with Afro-Colombian marimba music and jazz.

Balimaya Project x Discos Pacífico All Stars unites a supergroup of over 15 musicians in a thrilling musical exchange. Rooted in Mandé jazz and Afro-Colombian traditions, this special concert explores the deep cultural connections between West Africa, Colombia’s Pacific coast and London’s vibrant jazz scene. 

Musicians from groups like Bejuco, Semblanzas de Rio Guapi and former members of Agrupación Changó come together in the powerful rhythms of their shared heritage and contemporary influences.

Expect rich rhythms, dynamic improvisation and a unique fusion of instruments including djembe, balafon, marimba and cununo. This special collaboration sees artists sharing musical knowledge and honouring the shared heritage and contemporary influences influences that have shaped African diasporic music across continents.
