Sinfonia of London: Serenade

Britten, Bliss, Elgar and Vaughan-Williams

Sinfonia of London

The barnstorming Sinfonia of London have garnered rave reviews since their relaunch in 2018, and this concert presents a rare opportunity to hear them in a smaller, more intimate arrangement.

Described by The Guardian as 'a handpicked supergroup', whose rare 'live performances are a special occasion', the orchestra will be joined for this performance by British tenor Laurence Kilsby and British horn player Christopher Parkes.

Serenade brings together major string works from the Edwardian repertoire, including Vaughan Williams’ icily ethereal Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis and Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horns and Strings, alongside Arthur Bliss’s Music For Strings, and Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro for Strings.
