I want to be a machine

Jenny Hval - I want to be a machine

A multifaceted new show featuring music from innovative composer and musician Jenny Hval performed alongside Håvard Volden, Jenny Berger Myhre and Linn Nystadnes.

I want to be a machine weaves music from Hval’s next solo record into an open-ended mediation on the purpose of art. It’s a theatrical extension of her playful, provocative and intensely personal creative journey; inventive, daring and full of technical surprises.

Jenny Hval is a Norwegian composer, singer-songwriter and novelist with eight studio albums under her belt that seamlessly interweave musical, literary, visual, and performative modes of expression. Combining electronics, pop and aesthetics, she has been creating boundary-pushing music for over fifteen years.

Returning after her sold out Milton Court show in 2019, Hval brings her new show to The Pit across four dates in April.
