Roomful of Teeth

Musicians from Roomful of Teeth

Grammy-winning vocal group Roomful of Teeth returns with new music by composers celebrated for breaking down cultural boundaries.

Following a sell-out performance as part of our Max Richter and Yulia Mahr weekend, Roomful of Teeth brings their vocal acrobatics to a programme that includes European premieres by Turkish-German producer-composer Alev Lenz, and Native Hawaiian composer and sound artist Leilehua Lanzilotti. There’s music by Puerto Rican composer Angélica Negrón, and a new work by one of Roomful of Teeth’s eight members, American polymath Caroline Shaw – the youngest ever winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Music.

Dedicated to reimagining the expressive potential of the human voice, Roomful of Teeth is redefining classical vocal music. As The New York Times puts it: ‘Because the group writes or commissions almost all of its pieces, it can create vocal effects that most singers would never attempt.’

This performance will finish at approximately 9.15pm, including a 20-minute interval
