George Dalaras

feat. Aspasia Stratigou & Violeta Ikari

For many, George Dalaras embodies the Greek sound. Meet the singer who has made rembetiko music his own, and whose repertoire also includes Greek folk music and Latin American elements.

Rembetiko, also known as the Greek blues, came to prominence at the same time as jazz. George Dalaras, himself the son of a well-known rembetiko artist, was one of the genre’s innovators.

In 1974, Dalaras worked with the legendary Mikis Theodorakis for the first time. The following year, he released his album 50 Years of Rembetiko.

With his exceptional voice and instrumental skills, the musician and singer has always been at the forefront of innovation in contemporary Greek music.

The end time for this concert will be added here closer to the performance date.
