Artist Open Call

Children on stage at Barbican Box showcase in Manchester

We are looking for visual and moving image artists, based in West Norfolk or the surrounding area.

Barbican Guildhall Creative Learning and PEACH West Norfolk are looking for visual and moving image artists, based in West Norfolk or the surrounding area, to support Barbican Guildhall Creative Learning’s Primary Box programme, when we launch in schools in King’s Lynn and West Norfolk in Spring term 2021.

The Barbican Primary Box programme is a portable box filled with the ingredients for making and creating original poetry, film and visual arts. Barbican Box has been implemented across schools and colleges in London, Manchester, Harlow and now Norfolk, thanks to our partnership with Creative Arts East and PEACH West Norfolk.

The Primary Box is  a cross-arts box designed to ignite creativity in the classroom for Key Stage 2. The artist practitioners will support the programme by assisting us to introduce schools to imaginative and adventurous approaches to the arts through a guided process of in-school artist visits and collaborative delivery.

Full details of the artist practitioner role can be downloaded from this page.

If you would prefer to send a video of your responses to the questions, please send the link to [email protected] (subject line: Barbican Box Artist), along with a C.V. document / video detailing examples of your work to date and experience with working with the arts and children/young people.

For any questions, or to talk to one of the team about the project, please contact [email protected]

Applications have now closed.
