Beloved Clara

Guildhall's Alumni Recital Series

Painting of Clara Schumann

Commemorating the bicentenary of Clara Schumann, Guildhall School alumna Lucy Parham presents this original Composer Portrait.

The special concert will tell the compelling and tragic story of the passionate yet volatile relationship between Robert Schumann, his pianist wife Clara Wieck and Johannes Brahms.

Award-winning pianist Lucy – internationally known for her Composer Portrait concert series – will perform music by all three composers, interspersed with extracts from their letters and diaries read by acclaimed actors Simon Russell Beale and Harriet Walter.

The Alumni Recital Series is in support of Guildhall School’s Scholarship Fund.

Promoted by the Guildhall School of Music & Drama

End-time: approx. 8.50pm

Please note that Lesley Sharp, originally advertised as a narrator in this concert, is no longer able to take part.
