Architecture on Film

Architecture on Film is a bi-monthly film series offering an expanded and dynamic view of how architecture and the city are represented through the moving image.

Screening fiction, documentary, visual art and more Architecture on Film explores the worlds built and constructed through both architecture and cinema. As architect Rem Koolhaas once said: An architect writes scripts, but for people, not for actors'. Through this film series we explore the ways that cinema can perform these scripts anew.

Established in 2008 by the Architecture Foundation in partnership with the Barbican, the programme regularly features UK premieres, specialist introductions and ScreenTalks, alongside double bills and repertory screenings.

Explore the unique perspectives filmmaking can bring to architectural and urban culture, in one of London’s most important architectural landmarks.
