Writing Workshop

Writing Ecologies

A hand writing in a book

© Matt Maude

Surrounded by the greenery of our Conservatory, join an established author for a workshop that invites you to explore how writing can illuminate our connection to the natural world.

Whether you’re a lifelong writer or taking your first step onto the page, all are welcome.

Each session begins with a Q&A with our guest author, followed by a provocative prompt and quiet time to write in the Conservatory’s inspiring setting.

Running alongside COP25 and our Dystopia is Not the Future season, the series will explore themes of interdependence, activism, and healing. It will culminate in several new works, presented at a literary celebration and live performance on 1 Feb 2026.

Guest author to be announced soon.

Duration: 1-5pm

Age recommendation: 16+

Facilitated by Write Club London.

Presented by the Barbican's Creative Collaboration team.
