Young Hearts + ScreenTalk with dir Anthony Schatteman hosted by TGirlsonFilm's Jaye Hudson (12A)

ScreenTalks

Director Anthony Schatteman joins us to discuss his tender coming-of-age film that captures the thrill and awkward beauty of first love.

Thirteen year-old Elias falls in love for the first time, realising that he is attracted to his new neighbour, Alexander. Confused by these feelings, he turns to his friends and family but is only met with more questions.

Elias sets out to prove that he is worthy of Alexander’s heart, whilst also confronting his inner turmoil, and the result is a heartfelt story of first love, self-discovery, and acceptance.

Anthony Schatteman’s first feature is gentle and sincere in its exploration of how burgeoning gay love shapes identity in a supposedly neutral world, told with warmth and humour.
