The Planets

Raymond Gubbay Christmas Festival

the earth in the foreground with the other planets in the solar system behind it

A celestial journey through sound and symphony. Step into the cosmic splendour of Gustav Holst’s The Planets, in an evening that promises to stir the senses and ignite the imagination.

From the fiery intensity of Mars to the serene beauty of Venus and the mystery of Neptune, Holst’s awe-inspiring suite captures the character of each planet with unforgettable power and emotion. This is classical music at its most cinematic and thrilling, conducted by Lee Reynolds with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Set alongside other orchestral gems, this concert offers a journey through some of the most expressive and dynamic music ever composed, culminating in Holst’s iconic masterpiece. Soaring strings. Thunderous brass. Unmatched scale. Let the music lift you out of the everyday and into the stars.

This performance will end at approximately 4.30pm, including an interval.
