The Ballad of Wallis Island + ScreenTalk

Co- writers and stars Tim Key, Tom Basden and director James Griffiths join us to discuss their warm and witty comedy based on their 2007 short film The One and Only Herb McGwyer Plays Wallis Island.

Eccentric lottery winner Charles Heath (Tim Key) lives alone on the remote Wallis Island, and dreams of reuniting the members of his favourite band, McGwyer Mortimer (Tom Basden and Carey Mulligan). With the backing of his multi-million fortune to fuel his fantasies, he invites the ex-bandmates and lovers to play a private gig on the island, and old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to keep his dream alive.

The Ballad of Wallis Island is a charming gem of British comedy filmmaking, complimented perfectly by original folk songs by Tom Basden.
