Teacher View of Encounters: Giacometti x Huma Bhabha

A young woman looking at artwork in a gallery

Calling all teachers! Join us for an introduction to Encounters: Giacometti x Huma Bhabha, the debut exhibition in our brand new gallery space.

Within a new, intimate gallery in the Barbican, contemporary artist Huma Bhabha's monumental sculptures forge new dialogues with works by 20th century sculptor Alberto Giacometti.

The sculptures in this show represent nearly a century of artmaking, their mediums spanning plaster, bronze, terracotta and found objects. Works from across Bhabha’s career are displayed alongside iconic works by Giacometti made mostly in the aftermath of World War II.

This event includes free entry to the exhibition and an introduction from a member of our curatorial team. There'll be an opportunity to meet and connect with fellow educators, and to find out more about our schools programmes. Plus, our dedicated team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about bringing your learners along to the exhibition.
