Summer Film Camp

Play Make Do: A Festival of Fun for All the Family

Two young children wear headphones and play with objects.

Explore the art of direct animation and create a collaborative 16mm film from start to finish in this week-long workshop led by artist Nia Fekri.

This is a hands-on workshop that encourages imaginative storytelling through the manipulation and abstraction of pre-recorded film.

Over the course of five sessions, participants will work together to experiment with texture, rhythm and movement, bringing their narrative to life frame by frame.

No prior experience with film is required - just curiosity and a willingness to explore and create.

Nia Fekri is an Iranian-British artist and educator whose practice spans moving image, writing, and performance. Her work often explores themes of migration and familial relationships. As an educator and facilitator, she focuses on collaborative storytelling and speculative practice across a range of media.
