Souleymane's Story (12A)

Abou Sangaré provides a stand out performance in Boris Lojkine's emotional drama about an asylum-seeking food delivery rider in Paris.

Every moment counts for Souleymane, a young Guinean asylum seeker navigating the shadows of Paris. With his fate hanging on an imminent asylum interview, he races through the night as a delivery rider, crashing in hostels and clinging to hope.

Souleymane's Story pulses with the tension of a thriller and the raw emotion of a social drama, anchored by a breakout performance from Abou Sangaré that’s as magnetic as it is moving.

The film has received major critical acclaim, including winning four César Awards for Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actress (Nina Meurisse), Best Editing, and Male Breakthrough for Sangaré, alongside accolades from Cannes Film Festival in 2024, where it claimed the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize and Best Actor.
