Noah Davis: Exhibition Tour with Curator Wells Fray-Smith

Noah Davis: Talks and Events

A painting of two teenage girls asleep on a sofa. One has her head leant against the arm of the sofa, the other is laying beside her. On the left, the legs of another figure can be seen sitting in an adjacent seat. There are a pair of black shoes on the floor.

For this special evening, join curator Wells Fray-Smith as she selects some of her favourite works in the exhibition and how Davis referenced and defied his art historical heroes.

Noah Davis was obsessed with the history of painting, noting how he was influenced by ‘Peter Doig, Francis Bacon and Lucien Freud, who all created their own language for their work.’ Celebrating the late artist’s expansive creativity, this debut retrospective showcases Noah Davis as one of the most original and uncanny painters emerging in recent years.
