Naseer Shamma

Portrait of Naseer Shamma sitting on sand and playing the oud

Discover the transformative power of music with Naseer Shamma, where each performance is a journey through the soul of the oud, bridging cultures and generations.

The world-renowned oud virtuoso and composer, whose profound musical journey has captivated audiences globally, takes over our stage. Shamma's expertise and passion for the oud have led to over 120 original compositions, blending traditional Arabic melodies with contemporary influences.

In 1999, Shamma founded 'The Arab Oud House' dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of the oud. With branches in Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Baghdad, and Mosul, the school has become a beacon for aspiring musicians, fostering cultural unity through the universal language of music.

Shamma is also a committed humanitarian. As a UNESCO Artist for Peace, WHO Goodwill Champion, and IFRC Ambassador, he leverages his art to inspire younger generations, combat extremism, and support vulnerable communities. This show is part of Shubbak Festival.
