Giordano's passionate tragedy set against the backdrop of the violence and intrigue of the French Revolution.

Starring tenor Piotr Beczala as the virtuous poet who falls in love with an aristocratic lover, Maddalena di Coigny (Sonya Yoncheva) whilst Carlo Gérard, (Igor Golovatenko) the agent of the Reign of Terror seals the fate of these doomed lovers.

Met Principal Guest Conductor Daniele Rustioni takes the podium to lead Nicolas Joël’s gripping staging.
