A man and a woman sit on the beach looking at each other with mountains in the background

A washed-up tennis pro is drawn into a mysterious world after the arrival of an English couple in this slow-burn thriller set against the scorching landscape of the Canary Islands.

Tom (Sam Riley) drinks himself into oblivion by night and gives half-hearted tennis lessons to tourists by day. After accepting the son of a sophisticated female guest he finds himself spending more time with the parents. Soon, peculiar tensions rise and and a strange disappearance occurs.

Sam Riley provides a career-best performance, whilst Dascha Dauenhauer's score brings the mood to a fever-pitch against dreamy landscapes and scorching unease in Jan-Ole Gerster's seductive new film.
