London Symphony Orchestra/Gustavo Dudamel

Strauss & Ravel, with Marina Rebeka

Gustavo Dudamel smiling while holding his baton above his head

Four stories of faraway lands, opulence, and scandal.

Richard Strauss’ tone poem Don Juan paints a legendary womaniser unable to outrun his fate. A brash opening leads the way for a mournful, tragic conclusion.

In two nocturnal, billowing portraits, Ravel imagines distant lands: a longing that conjures them before our very eyes. And in a suite drawn from the opera Der Rosenkavalier, Richard Strauss invites us to dance among the colour and movement of Vienna’s bygone golden age.

The renowned Gustavo Dudamel has broken boundaries with his bold programming. Joined by acclaimed soprano Marina Rebeka, he leads audiences on a magical journey.

The concert will finish at approximately 9pm, including a 20-minute interval (timings subject to change).
