Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (15)

The ultimate documentary, this is a jaw dropping insight into the explosive events that led to the making of Apocalypse Now

In the late 1970s, fresh off the success of The Godfather, director Francis Ford Coppola and his cast, crew and family ventured into the dense jungles of the Philippines to begin work on what would eventually become his masterpiece, Apocalypse Now.

Plagued with adversity, the production of this film soon spiralled into a life-threatening journey that echoed the film's narrative and became one of the most notorious shoots in cinema history.

Meticulously documented at the time by Eleanor Coppola, Fax Bahr, and George Hickenlooper they revisited the footage, filmed new interviews to create this intimate portrait of the explosive behind-the-scenes events.

Now restored in 4k, this is the chance to witness the making of one of the most iconic films of all time.
