Guildhall Symphony Orchestra

Ravel & Tchaikovsky

Guildhall Symphony Orchestra on stage at Barbican Hall

Ravel’s Piano Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony feature in a vibrant programme of colour and contrast.

Outstanding Guildhall soloist Xu Peng takes centre stage for Ravel’s jazz-infused Piano Concerto – playful, lyrical and full of rhythmic sparkle.

With powerful, lush orchestration, Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony vividly portrays themes of fate, passion and resilience, taking audiences on a captivating journey from a somber and turbulent opening to a triumphant and radiant finale.

Opening the programme is a new work by a Guildhall graduate, showcasing the fresh creative voices emerging from the School today.
