Friendship (AD) (15)

Two men in big winter coats share snacks on a walk

A suburban dad falls hard for his charismatic new neighbour in this dark comedy with a psychological thriller twist, starring Paul Rudd.

Craig Waterman (Tim Robinson) sees no reason to change his life or make new friends. Until local weather man Austin (Paul Rudd) moves into the neighbourhood.

Mysterious yet friendly, and with all the trappings of a sad-sack local hero Austin transforms everything for Craig, until his obsessive and childlike nature threatens to ruin the friendship, and possibly everything else in his life.

With a healthy dose of absurdist comedy Robinson and Rudd maintain the heart of this story which also manages to hit the traditional beats of a psychological horror and explore the painful realities of an adult friendship imploding.
