Darling (15)

Julie Christie gazes into the mirror

Julie Christie's romantic satire packs a punch 50-years on as she hops from bed to bed in a tale of feminine sexuality in a patriarchal world.

Diana Scott (Julie Christie) is an ambitious model determined to make it to the top of the London fashion scene. Using her sexuality, she manipulates powerful men before finding herself a prisoner of the smart world she presumes she has conquered.

Making waves on its release back in 1965, Darling has won four BAFTA's and three Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Julie Christie and retains its satirical humour whilst allowing us to step back in time to a bygone Britain.

From acclaimed director John Richard Schlesinger, also known for Far From the Madding Crowd and Midnight Cowboy.
